I decided to take images of different people for my contents page to add variety to my music magazine. My artists are positioned in different poses to emphasise different attitudes and personalities which separate them from eachother. The different outfits also help create a sense of individuality as it creates different styles.  My artists are wearing certain accessories such as necklaces and glasses to make their image appear more interesting and suit the genre of pop more. This will also appeal to younger audiences as it is including more elements of fashion whilst still being laidback. They are situated in an urban environment to continue the theme of youth and give an edgy style whilst keeping the magazine professional to hopefully appeal to older teenagers and young adults.  I have decided to use images from a concert to suit the conventions of a music magazine as well as introduce vibrant colours to look more eye catching.

In layout 3, I have decided to experiment with the layout by making it more complex and detailed. I have included two columns and 3 sections which provide enough space for the information as well as allow room for many images. I have decided to include 4 images which allows the layout to look visually appealing and possibly grab my target audience's attention easier. 'Contents' is located on the side of the layout which provides an unusual composition however I would need to ensure that the font and size of the text is large enough to allow it to be visible.

In layout 2, I have decided to experiment with one column and one section as this will keep the layout simple and clear. I have positioned the main image of the featured artist as the background as I like the effect that it has. It is also an easy way to inform the audience who is the main feature in the issue as visually they appear to be prominent and significant to the magazine. Despite this, if I decide to use this layout I should consider including extra images to make my contents page look more interesting and busy. I have also situated the date and issue number at the top of the contents page as it may not be the most significant piece of information on the page but also allow enough room for images and sections.

In layout 1, I have included two columns which will be useful as I will be able to include different sections and will also allow me to include more pages and secondary images. Having analysed the feedback from my target audience, it is also evident that two columns would be the most suitable. I have positioned the main image of the featured artist in the centre as it relates back to the main article that should initially grab the audience's attention. I have included more than one image as this will make the contents page look more visually appealing and may seem more interesting as certain images may catch the audience's attention. I have decided to include the spotlight logo on this layout as it is clear to the audience what magazine it is as well as creating a distinctive style that would be possibly used on future issues. The date and issue number are located at the top of the layout to emphasise the main features and images. I could also consider including any contact information as well as different social media platforms at the top of the page.

To start off the process of developing and planning my magazine contents page, I have created 3 different layouts to help me decide on the most suitable layout for my music magazine contents page.
